Milestone

As you're probably well aware, I'm not a sport guy. I don't follow sports and I don't care about sports. With that said, I understand their popularity and impact on our society. Even if you follow sports you may have missed a very important story today. I am very happy and proud to report that current NBA player Jason Collins announced today that he's gay. Celebrity coming out stories don't make as many headlines as they used to. That shows some of the progress our culture has made. However this particular story deserves more press. He's the first pro-athlete to make the move and in doing so has broken down numerous. I've been vocal about my distaste for people who announce their sexuality long after their career's peek. Jason did the right thing. He stood up and was honest when it mattered regardless of the consequences.  Good for you Jason! Bravo.

Slaves

There are endless possibilities in the world of sexual desire. With the invention of the internet and social media, rare and unique fetishes are being brought to light. Although I'm not really turned on by the fetish lifestyle, I find many aspect of it completely fascinating. (A note of clarification, I use the term 'fetish' and 'fetish lifestyle' as an umbrella term for the leather, S&M, and the Dom/Sub communities. Fetishes can come in many different varieties but in this instance I lack a more appropriate word.)

Even if I'm not turned on by something, I can usually understand the reasoning behind it. For example, I've never been whipped and I have no desire to ever try it. However, I can understand why someone would like it. Although as you delve deeper into the fetish community there are strong foundations in domination and submission. Again, I can see why someone would like to take on a certain role during sex. What I don't understand is when that role bleeds into everyday life. Its one thing to call a guy daddy as he's fucking your face, its an entirely different thing to call him daddy in public while asking permission to sit down. And lets not get started on the whole puppy thing. (eye roll) But if that's what you're into, carry on and let your freak flag fly.

My questions about the daddy/boy relationship is nothing compared to my total bewilderment regarding the master/slave dynamic. Specifically, live in slaves.  I found the following profile that paints the perfect picture of what I'm talking about. This is text from a real profile of a real couple and was only edited for length:

We are sexually/mentally/physically aggressive and are looking for submissive guys who want to be dominated. We want to have a live in slave long term preferably. Totally "TPE". We believe a dom / sub role is all about control of the mind and body. Chemistry is very important as is attraction.

We are looking for a total slave to submit to us. Serve us fully from domestic chores to sexual things 100% SERVITUDE. Our slave will work a job and submit all money to us for a while to show your submission and dedication to us. After that our slave will be dedicated to our needs 24/7.

When our slave is not in use, it could be gagged, tied up and put in a closet/holding cell until it is needed. Or rewarded for amazing service if we feel that the slave deserves it. We can be very sadistic, and like to punish our slave to remind him who is in control.

Our slave must be in decent shape and be willing to make that 100% commitment to us. We are looking to totally 100% own someone.

ONLY respond if your serious to be the complete piece of crap slave that you really are and want to dig as deep into the dark recesses of your Masters warped mind to experience what its like to be 100% DOMINATED!

Take a moment to let that all sink in. This profile was the best example but it was not the only example. I saw other profiles refer to 'total removal from society.' Really? When I go over to a friends house, do they have a secret slaves locked in the closet that I don't know about?

To break this down, let's start with the slave 'owners.' Though it might be nice to have someone who does all your housework and chores, the dehumanizing element is very jarring. Plus, how do you bring that up to your boyfriend? "I love you and I think its time we passed a major milestone in our relationship. I think its time we owned a human." What if the slave changes his mind? Is there a life safe word? If that slave has a mood swing and changes his mind, he can run to the police and have you charged with unlawful imprisonment. Remember what happened to Boy George? It may be a good idea to have a signed liability contract or something.

Now to the people who want to be kept as slaves. (My mental image is of The Gimp from Pulp Fiction) Are there any sane well adjusted men who apply for these positions? I can't help but assume that you're getting a big ball of crazy when you welcome a slave into your home. Being gagged and kept in a closet by someone who is sadistic by their own admission has never made it onto my bucket list. This topic would be perfect for a True Life episode on MTV or Logo documentary.

Like I said, I am not an expert on the fetish lifestyle but rather an on looker who has strong opinions. Just because I don't understand something doesn't mean its wrong. If all parties are consenting adults then I won't stop you. Go forward with your bat shit crazy plans. If you're a live in slave to a sadistic master and I've offended you, I apologize. However truth be told, I doubt I care. Plus you're probably not supposed to be using a computer anyway so get back in your cage.

I Got Kicked Off Streamzoo

I finally got kicked off Streamzoo. If you are not familiar with it, Streamzoo is/was a photo sharing app much like Instagram. The key difference was that most of the pictures were of horny naked bears. Sucking, fucking, hard cocks, plump asses... it was all in Streamzoo pictures and videos. That all changed when, in the last month, Streamzoo decided to start enforcing the No Nudity section of their user agreement. Their user agreement had always included a no nudity and clause but it seemed like the creators knowingly turned a blind eye. To clean up their app, SZ started to kick hundred's of it's users including me. I'm disapointed but not surprised. It was only a matter of time before they shut me down. The main reason I used SZ was to see and share super hot naked pictures and videos. With all that gone I really don't have use for it anymore. Now it's just a boring shitty knock off of Instagram. (Instagram has a much better interface and superior filters anyway) Sharing PG rated videos is not enough to make me go back.

One of the other things people liked about Streamzoo was that you could control who saw your account. There was an element of privacy built in because it was not open to the whole public like Tumblr and Xtube. This helped a lot more people feel comfortable about showing ass and cock because they knew who was going to see it. That's feature is unique and missing from most other porn sites. That made me think. This is a perfect opportunity for someone to develop a killer app/website. Techies listen up. You needs to create a mobile website with the privacy features of Streamzoo and the porn of Xtube. If you create it, I'll use it. I figure it needs to be a mobile website to avoid Apple's strict no porn policy on apps. On a side note: I'm still not sure how Tumblr gets away with it? Twitter also has a shocking amount of hardcore porn if you follow the right people.

So goodbye Streamzoo. It was fun while it lasted.

Obsessed: The Great Gatsby

I'm obsessed with the trailer for The Great Gatsby directed by Baz Luhrmann. The music and visual are EVERYTHING! The song at the end of the trailer is by Filter and is 80% of the reason I love this preview. Enjoy

Things You Should Never Say

We've all put our foot in our mouths at one point or another and spend the rest of the evening trying to dig ourselves out of a hole. To avoid awkward conversations and social blunders here are some topics to shy away from.

I don't like Bob Marley
I'm not racist, I have black friends
I pee sitting down
Is it in yet?
I hate to read
Why are you single?
Sandra Bullock didn't deserve and Oscar for the Blind Side
I don't care about live music
Are you pregnant?
Are you a girl or a boy?
You're cute for an Asian person (any ethnicity can be used)
Before the war, Hitler actually had some good ideas.
I hate pizza
Your cum tastes just like your dads.
I'm sorry for your break up but you knew he was to good for you.

Movie Reviews

Olympus Has Fallen- When we went to see this movie my choices were between it and GI Joe. I kind of wanted to see Olympus Has Fallen but I really didn't want to see GI Joe. The plot was a bit predictable but it had enough action and drama to keep you engaged. At one point Morgan Freeman takes over as acting president. I honestly thought to myself, "Well of course, Morgan Freeman is always the president." Over all I liked OHF, it was everything you expect it to be and Gerard Butler is well cast as the hero. I'd recommend seeing in the theater only because action movies are always better in the theater. Its enjoyable and entertaining but it won't be winning any awards.

The Incredible Burt Wonderstone- My sister and I had a free night when we were in Florida visiting our parents. We decided to see a movie but our choices were limited. I suggested Burt Wonderstone because it was the best of the bunch and I thought it might turn out to be an unexpected funny movie. Jim Carrey saves the movie by outshining Steve Carell. All of Carell's funniest moments are shown in the preview. The movie is heart warming and sweet but is (very) light on laugh out loud moments. Save it for Netflix or a free HBO weekend.

Game Change- I know I'm extremely late on this one but I didn't see the Sarah Palin story until this past weekend. The movie was well done and Julianne Moore was great but the story was painful to watch. Palin was so unprepared and unqualified that I felt sorry for her. I don't know enough about politics to know how accurate the facts were. If it was true... YIKES.

Girls- I've heard nothing but praise for Lena Dunham's show about 20 something girls living in New York. I started at the beginning and watched the very first episode. It was awful. The entire episode was about Hannah (played by Dunham) complaining that her parents won't pay her bills anymore. Really? Seriously? Facebook friends told me to give it another chance so I watched the second episode. This story line featured Hannah getting tested for HIV while making AIDS jokes and a friend getting an abortion. The entire episode was abortion abortion abortion, AIDS AIDS AIDS, abortion abortion abortion. It felt like the writers were trying too hard to be controversial and it ended up feeling forced and cliche. You're not cutting edge just because you set an episode in an abortion clinic. Overall Girls is the epitome of hipster nonsense and the main character Hannah is depressing and unlikable. Thumbs down.

P.S. Forget Girls, give me the 'boys' on Gigolos any day.

P.P.S. Is Gigolos still on?

Tough Love: Everyone Won't Always Like You.

Every so often an article pops up listing everything that is wrong with the bear community. The tone is always the same. The author moans and groans because he doesn't feel welcome in the bear community. "Why do bears have to be so cliquey. I go to bear events and no one talks to me. When I go to bars it's hard to meet people." Blah Blah Blah. Here's an idea, maybe you're ugly and boring? (just kidding... kind of) Is it wrong that I don't feel sympathy for these people? So you don't feel welcome or comfortable amongst bears... so what?! Find people you do feel comfortable with. There are many groups who I don't fit in with and that's why I don't hang out with them. For example, I don't have a lot in common with leather guys and therefore I don't hang out with them much. Does that mean the leather community is awful and unfriendly? No. It just means that we like different things. Yes, bears can be cliquey and yes its difficult to meet people at a bar. Here's a news flash for you, it's like that everywhere. Its called life. You know who else is cliquey? Muscle guys, leather guys, twinks, chubs, sports guys, drag queens, and straight people.  often bring up a point that Bear culture developed because a segment of the gay populations felt different and unwelcome in the larger mainstream community. Therefore the bear community is sometimes touted as one that welcomes everyone. Bring us your tired, your poor, your huddled masses... Not quit. That sounds perfect if we were living in an after school special or a Harvey Milk documentary. In reality bears are just a group of guys who gravitate toward one another because they have similar interests and usually that interest is having sex with bears.

There's one other point I need to address. Often the author says something like "That's why I hang out with my straight friends." I reject the notion that straight people are the social equivalent of a welcome wagon. You like your straight friends because they are the straight version of you. They're probably blogging at this very moment about how arrogant the guys at the gym are. Straight people are just as cliquey and judgmental as any gay group. Think about it, straight nightclubs use a velvet rope to keep out 'undesirables' and ask any chubby girl how comfortable she is hanging around models. As much as we are different we are also very similar. Gay or straight there's a little Regina George and Mother Teresa in all of us.

For the record, I'm a bear and I love the bear community. Bears are my second family. Going to bear runs is a blast because I get to party with old friend and see new one who live far away. I love my little bear world. It should also be mentioned that there was a specific article that prompted this post but I chose not to call out the author because he has a right to his opinion and I support fellow bloggers. Plus, I didn't want to give him any more attention.
