Fatboys, Bobbleheads, and Gay Art Critics

Female celebs are not the only ones who can can go through a dramatic weight loss. Their pudgy male counterparts are getting in on the trend. I'll admitt from the start that I am biased. It's no secret that I prefer a man with a belly. Truth be told though it all depends on the person and how they carry the weight. Here are five examples of male actors who shed some poundage.

First is Jerry Ferrara star if HBO's Entourage. This is the perfect example of bigger is better. I always thought he was one of the cutest guys in Hollywood. He was so cute! After the weight loss I can't help but think average, forgetable, and generic.

Next is Ethan Suplee from My Name is Earl. As Earl's chubby brother Randy he had a cute dumb guy quality. Now he is healthy and svelt. As a skinny guy he looks pretty good but his forehead is ENORMOUS. Fat has a way of balancing out a large head. Nothing is worse then the former fat guy who is turns into a skinny bobblehead. My advice: Put the hat back on.

Poor Drew Carey. You built your career on being the lovable chubby everyman. Now the host of the Price is Right looks like a gay art critic. Gain the weight back or learn the nuances of Julian Schnabel.

Jonah Hill recently unveiled his new look at the ESPY awards. This is a tough one. Lets be honest, he wasn't that cute before and he's not that cute after. My vote is the after (thin) because if you're going to be unattractive either way...you may as well be healthy. But will he be as funny?
Ricky Gervais has slimmed down as well. He is the only person who maintained his looks for the most part. It helps that he did not have as dramatic a change as some of the other guys. Before or after...he's average. However it seems like he has become more of a dickhead now that he is lighter. So this one's a toss up!
Horatio Sanz wins the award for looking a the best after his weight loss. However he looks almost unrecognizable! When I first saw him on tv after loosing weight I had no idea who the hell he was. Congrats Horatio.

Bucket List

I've had a successful year so far. I've crossed to items off my bucket list. First was being able to see the Oyster Dress (by Alexander McQueen) in person thanks to the MET exhibit. More recently I got to see Salt-N-Pepa in concert at the MGM Grand Casino. They were great! I finally got to see one of my all time favorite songs performed live! Rock on S+P.

Through The Looking Glass

I'm off on Thursdays and they tend to be very boring. Then I had a light bulb moment! Going to Alexander McQueen earlier this year at the MET sparked my interest in seeing more museums exhibits. Therefore I started to look around at local museums for interesting shows. I'll be the first to admit that walking around a museum can be very boring. How many paintings of dead white people can you look at? Yawn. That's why I like a special exhibits because they tend to be a lot more lively and fun. Last Thursday I went to the Chihuly show Through the Looking Glass at the MFA in Boston with my cousin Kelly. It was bright and colorful with a hint of psychedelic charm. It's only around for another week or two but if you're in the area check it out.

Print It

Am I the only person who still prints out pictures? I still like having paper copies. I like the idea of getting older and flipping through my photo albums to remember the 'good ol days.' In addition I like to frame memorable pics to place around my room. I guess I could invest in one of those digital frames... but that seems like cheating somehow. Usually I'll use Snapfish.com to print out all my digital images. This most recent purchase included the 8x10 collage to the left. It was a last minute add as I was checking out. A box popped up with it already put together asking if I'd like to add it to my purchase. It was only $3.00! I got it on the mail today and I love it. I suspect I'll be making a lot of these collages from now on.

What if Facebook crashed tomorrow? Your page and all of your friends' pages would be whiped out. Bye Bye pictures! I guess what I'm talking about is a back up plan. Technology is great but it is not fool proof. Yes it will be around forever but not always in the same form. Even if Facebook continues on for decades, it doesn't mean that computers and digital photography will remain the same.  Like everything else it will evolve into something completely different. God only know what Apple has up their sleave. I like knowing that I have paper copies as a back up. Now I just need to make sure and grab them if a fire breaks out.

You don't have to be like me and print them out...but at least save them to a flash drive. The best $50 I ever spent was on a 16GB flash drive. So for my tip of the day: Back Up Picture Files! Two or three times a year I spend an hours or so going through Facebook and saving all the pictures from past parties and vacations.  Currently I have about 7 full albums.

Fuck Listed

This started a year ago. To be technical it really started 10 years ago. While I was going though the 8 weeks of training for my current job there was often down time between activities. Because I like lists I decided to make a list of everyone I've had sex with. The definition of sex has a big impact on the length of the list. I used the the most all-encompasing definition I know of. It was created when I was in college and therefore I call it the UMass definition of sex: Any act involving two or more people where the result or goal is sexual pleasure or orgasm.

Memory is a major factor in making a sex list. Especially because I am horrible with names. Therefore many of the men on my list have clever descriptions to jog my memory such as "Milford Southern Hotel Guy" or "West Hartford 3some." In my defense I knew (most of) their names at the time...I just can't remember them now. I may not know their name but I always remember the act. Granted it took me several days to remember some of the more obsure ones. I'd be driving home and have a sudden brain storm "Wait, what about that guy in at UMass with the JLo poster on his wall?" Writing this post has jump started my memory and there were several additions added in the last couple days. Ok enough with the rambling. Lets get down to the numbers:
_________________________________________________________________

The current total is 163.

I've played with 15% of my friends list on Facebook.

I lost my virginity at the age of 19 in Providence RI. His name was/is Pete.

I've had sex in 3 countries. As well as on a cruise ship. I'm not sure what that counts as. International Waters?

I've had sex in 8 out of the 50 States (+ DC)

I've had 163 sexual partners and 2 boyfriends.

About 95% of the men are/were older then me.

With that out of the way, lets look behind the numbers. As a side not, heavy making out with over the cloths groping does not count on this list.

As a reader you'd expect this to be followed by stories from the best and the worst. I can't think of one specific time that was The Best. However there is a clear stand outs for best kisser. I won't name names because I think he reads this blog and I wouldn't want to embarrass him. But all I can say is that he had the softest juicy lips I've ever felt. Truly amazing. Best 3some is a tie. Each time a rare feat was accomplished, I was able to cum without any touching or contact with my dick. The first time it happened I was getting fucked and it felt like I was going to piss myself. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least.

This post took me about 3 days to finish. My main hesitation was revealing the total number. I started the post because I thought you would find it funny that I actually took time and hand wrote a list of everyone I've had sex with. I wasn't worried about how people would react because most of my close friends shouldn't be surprised with anything I've said. I was concerned that this was passing the point of class and good taste. I've always tried to live my life with a little dignity and class. I decided that there is dignity in being totally honest and starting a coversation. Here's to the next 163!

I Swear I'll Stop Talking About It.

I’ve made a decision! My decision is not to make a decision. For my 30th Birthday I am going to stop thinking and worrying about it. In an effort to change and do things differently…I’m going to wait until the last minute and go wherever the wind takes me. I’m a planner by nature. I like to know when, where, how, and how much. But to start off my 30’s I’m going to be spontaneous. Maybe I’ll stay home and watch a good movie or maybe I’ll go on a road trip. Who knows where I’ll end up? Now I realize I’m planning my spontaneity which slightly defeats the purpose, but give me a break…Baby Steps!

Also this will hopefully be my last posting about the whole event. I can imagine as a reader you are sick of my birthday before it’s even arrived. I just want to have a really good birthday this year. I’ve never had a bad birthday, but I’ve also never had a very memorable one. I’m taking the risk and getting my hopes up.
**So far to date my 28th Birthday is my most memorable. I did a shot out of Matt (he’s so hot it’s a shame he likes skinny boys)’s belly at Tommy’s.

At The Movies

The real Winklevoss twins

I've been on a movie kick lately. Nothing beats getting lost in the story line of a good movie. Here is a recap of what I've seen so far:

The Social Network- I re-watched it today and it was as good as I remember. I'm still amazed that the Winklevoss twins were really one person. *****

The Blind Side- I finally got around to seeing Sandy Bullocks Oscar winning role. To be honest I never really wanted to see the movie because the whole idea of Sandra with a southern accent seemed kind of cheesy. Through the gift of HBO, I finally got on the band wagon. I'll be the first to tell you I was wrong. It was such a good movie! (I cried about 7 times during the film) *****

Page One- This is the New York Times documentary. You can read the review from my earlier post.  ****

For Colored Girls- This was a Netflix pick. (I'm getting down to the bottom of my list) It held my attention and was over all a good movie. Heavy, but good. The movie was based on a play and you can tell the screen writer didn't change much in the adaptation. In every scene one of the characters has a long monologue that has nothing to do with the conversation their having at the time. ***

Horrible Bosses- This was a date movie. Again it wasn't at the top of my list but I was pleasantly surprised. It was very funny. The whole cast is hilarious and the plot isn't as far fetched as I expected. ****

Bad Teacher- I love Cameron Diaz in this movie. It was hysterical! If you haven't seen it yet...it's a great time at the theater. *****

Michael Oher and the Tuohy family

*Next on my list are Crazy Stupid Love and The Beginners.

Mi Familia

Me with my cousin Pat.
I realized last night that I’ve never posted much about my family. Here is a little background: I live with my older sister West Hartford and her three pugs Fitzy, Archie, and Doug. My sister, who is 34, was married to her high school sweet heart before getting divorced 2 years ago. My parents are both retired and spend a lot their time volunteering in my home town of Waterbury, CT.

As alike as we are, my sister and I are complete opposites. She tells my parents everything where as I am much more guarded. The funny thing about living with my sister is that she is starting to realize why I am so secretive with my parents. They love both of us, but they also tend to freak out over everything. Over the years when I have let my guard down and shared personal information it has always blown up in my face. For example, when I was in college I spent a little over 3 weeks traveling through Europe as part of a summer abroad program. Before I left my parents were generous enough to give me a couple hundred dollars for spending money because I was poor college student. When I returned home I happen to mention that traveling had put some “debt” on my credit card. I made the mistake of using the word debt and that caused an upheaval. Money tends to be a hot button issue with Mom and Dad. I’ll save the epic story of when I left my job at Bath and Body Works for another time. (it was a major turning point in my life) I lovingly call it World War 3. The funny thing about WW3 is that it all started because my sister accidentally blabbed to my parents.

My extended family is somewhat small. My father has one sister who lives in California. She’s the aunt who found a smart successful husband and generally married up. Her three kids are grown and all live on the west coast. The last time I saw her was in 2003 at my sisters wedding. My mother has one brother who is married without children in Rhode Island. Her older sister lives locally and has four grown daughters who all have families of their own. Those 4 sisters (my cousins) make up the majority of my family that I see on a somewhat regular basis. Again, I love them but they are all about 15 years older and have children of their own. We’ve never had much in common but luckily we have been able to keep in touch through Facebook.

So that's my family life. Nothing to exciting on the surface. However I'll try and post some of the more interesting stories as time goes on.

Name the Actress.

Do you remember any of these movies?

Love Happens                    The Break Up

The Bounty Hunter            Management

The Switch                         Friends With Money

Just Go With It                   Rumor Has It

Don't be surprised if none of them ring a bell. They all tanked at the box office. Each movie stared the same actress...Jennifer Aniston. The eight movies are from the last 11 years of her career. With the exception of Marley and Me and He's Just Not That Into You Jen Aniston has made one forgettable feature after another. My big question is Why is she still famous? She's still considered a very big star. Yes she was married to Brad Pitt, and yes he left her for Angelina Jolie. That was in 2005. We need to get over it.

Her new movie is Horrible Bosses and it's actually a good movie. She has a supporting role as a sex crazed dentist. It's not her normal good girl role and maybe that's why it works. So if you get a chance, check out Horrible Bosses. Jennifer Aniston needs a hit movie...BAD.

Page One

After a week of lame atempts, I finally made it to the movies to see Page One: Inside the New York Times. I give it two thumbs up. I found it extremely interesting. The major point of the documentary is to show the once 'King of Print Journalism' in trouble as a response to the evolving landscape of modern news reporting. Print news is becoming more out of date as blogging and electronic media takes over. Personally I thought the NY Times had one foot in the grave already. The film showes that they still have some fight left in them. It also points out that many new online sources are just rehashing content taken from other sites rather then sending their own reporters in. As with all documentaries Page One follows a handful of reports to gain different perspectives. The old school reporter who's been around the block, the young up and comer who tweets and uses social media...etc. If you're not interested in the subject matter you might find it boring. This is a good choice if you saw and liked The September Issue.

Also, look for a sub plot about the bankrupy of the Tribune Company. (owner of the Hartford Courant) The details of that company's fall would make a great movie! They show a video of chairman Sam Zell joking that there should be a porn section in the paper to increase sales.

Birthday Update

The plan was to travel for my 30th Birthday. That still may happen...but I won't be traveling as far. Here's the short version on how the plans are shaping up.

What's Out

Minneapolis- It's an area of the country I've never seen before. With very reasonable hotel prices and convenient attractions like the State Fair and the Mall of America, Minneapolis took an early lead. The problem is that flights are running over $400. For now Minnesota will stay uncheck on my travel list.

New Orleans- Southern Decadence is the same weekend as my birthday. The good thing is that I already have friends going but I'm not sure if this is the right trip for my 30th. In addition planning a trip to hurricane central during hurricane season doesn't seem like a good idea. We've had enough crazy weather this year...I don't want to mess with Mother Nature. Bye Bye New Orleans.

Chicago- This was a last minute consideration. If Minneapolis won't work maybe Chicago would. It's a bigger city and there are many more flight options. I've always heard great reviews about the windy city and it's also on my list places to go. However flight prices are similar to MN but without the hotel deals. So long Chicago.

Las Vegas- This was also a last minute thought. I was hoping to find the super travel deals Vegas is famous for. There were deals, but nothing exceptional. I suspect the holiday weekend is playing a bigger part then I thought it would.

Still in the running:

Washington DC- The nations capital is within driving distance and the money saved could be used toward a nicer hotel.

New York City- I still can't decide if I like New York. However I've never spent more then the day at a time visiting. But the city does have everything and going to a Broadway show is very appealing.

Connecticut- Staying local is currently leading the pack. Half of my friends will be away that weekend so a party doesn't seem logical. A quiet dinner or movie may be what the doctor orders.

Any other suggestions? I'm having trouble thinking of fun adventures in and around CT. A fall back is always the casino but are there other destinations I'm forgetting?

Lacroix Sweety

It's not Lacroix, but Edina would be proud! My fall look and obsession is going to be inspired by D&G's fall 2011 runway show. I LOVE this vest! Although I wish the orange and blue knit sleeves were attached. How much cuter would that be?!? Other highlights included retro Coca Cola and Mickey Mouse prints mixed with several super cute down puffy vests and coats. But...as we all know...if you have a belly like me, puff and bulk is not your friend. I end up looking like the Michelin Man. One trend from D&G I will not adopt is low-crotch skinny jeans. It looks like the models are wearing diapers under their corduroys. Note cute.

This Is Your Mission

Adam Richman is the host of Man vs Food Nation. (Formally Man vs Food) The show now features Adam coaching others through food competitions and contests. Apparently they changed the direction of the show on Richman's request becuase he was worried about health problems and weight gain. I think he looks FINE but I can understand his worries. I'd love to know if he's gay? An online article said he lives in Brooklyn. Here is your mission: find him and bring him to me!! [Said in the voice of the evil queen ;-)] I'd love to meet him and get a better look. He looks like he'd have a great butt. Oh, and if I can't date him...I'll take naked pictures as a substitute.
